International Baccalaureate


The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. It focuses on the development of the whole child.

After becoming an authorized IB school in 2019, the Rice Elementary community worked diligently to grow and improve. In early November of 2023, an evaluation of our progress was completed.  We are pleased to report that many good things were shared and goals for our future were set! If you are interested in learning more about IB or Rice

Rice Elementary is excited to continue our journey as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The IBPYP for grades K-5, nurtures and develops students as caring, active participants in a lifelong journey of learning.

IB learner profile

The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. 

The IB learner profile represents 10 attributes valued by IB World Schools. We believe these attributed, and others like them, can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national and global communities. 


As IB learners we strive to be:
