Dress for the Weather/Label Clothing

Minnesota winter is approaching quickly, please make sure your child is adequately dressed for recess.  Recess will be outdoors every day unless the windchill reaches -10.  It is most helpful to put your child(ren)'s name inside all clothing as we accumulate lots of lost & found this time of year.  This helps us in making sure your child will come home with their own clothing.

Health Office Reminders

Due to the variety of health related complaints in the elementary age population, teachers and school staff always try to prioritize health and safety and keep students in school when possible. Since many ailments can be resolved with using the restroom or having some water, students may not instantly be sent to the health office and exposed to ill children if not necessary. As cold and flu season is upon us, students with mild complaints that can be handled in the classroom will be handled there to avoid unnecessary exposures to coughs and vomiting and fevers whenever possible. If this is not a plan you would like for your child and feel like they need the health office care immediately regardless of complaint, please contact the health office directly so they can communicate with individual teaching staff.

Some illness reminders with cold and flu season upon us is that students need to be fever free 24 hours without the use of medications, 24 hours free of vomiting and diarrhea prior to returning to school. Coughs that interfere with their ability to perform school related tasks should also remain home. These are MN Department of Health guidelines and will be followed.

We appreciate your help in keeping our students and staff safe and healthy! Start practicing good hand hygiene now, getting plenty of sleep, and eating a balanced diet. These things can help students stay well during the months ahead.
